The Best Plant-Based Mashed Potatoes Ever
I am a huge comfort food eater and I love all things potatoes. Since becoming plant-based over twelve years ago, I have learned a lot about cooking potatoes for plant-based eaters. So hold on to your hats because you’re going to love this super easy and amazing tasting plant-based mashed potatoes. These potatoes are seriously blog worthy.

- 8 yellow fleshed potatoes
- 1 tsp sea salt
- water, to boil
- salt + pepper, to taste
- 1 head garlic, roasted
- 4 tbsp plant-based butter
- ¾ cups non-dairy milk, I used fortified rice-milk
- ¼ cups chives or green onions, chopped
Wash all the potatoes.
With skin on, cut all the potatoes into roughly equal sized cubes.
Add sea salt and boil the potatoes until soft, check with fork until deserved softness is reached.
Drain the potatoes.
Mash potatoes, add plant-based buttery spread until well combined.
Remove garlic skins and add garlic cloves to potato mixture.
Add non-dairy milk, mashing/mixing well until desired consistency is reach.
Add sea salt and pepper to taste.
Top with chives or green onions if desired.
