This past week while I’ve been out running errands, I’ve also been keeping my eyes on Christmas décor. I was pleasantly surprised with absolutely everything I saw at Canadian Tire from ornaments to garland to outdoor décor. They seem to be the most stocked with Christmas décor at the moment.
I also did some errand running at Walmart for my mom this past week. I had ordered an end table for her as I mentioned in my previous post. My 12 year old built it. That was a fun project for him. While I was there, I picked up some outdoor lights and took stock of what was on the shelves. I found myself back there the very next day to pick up more lights. You can almost never have too many lights. I also needed a battery for the 3 timer adapter with remote I picked up last year at Walmart. I can’t find them on-line but they were a Stanley brand and work marvellously. Here is a similar one although I know for sure, I did not pay this much for them.
Walmart Canada is stocking their Christmas trees right now so if you are in the market for a new tree, now is the time to go. I also noticed that they have gift box sets. Those cardboard gift boxes are always good to have on hand and also affordable.
Today, I stopped in at Michaels only to get plaid ribbon for our tree and to see if they had bottle brush trees. I was in luck, they had both so now I think I am all set. It helps to gather a few things every year until you have a good collection. Mixing and matching from year to year is also helpful. Over the years, I’ve collected so many decorations and last year, I finally started donating a few. Trends change and so does your style … at least mine has changed over the years. Last year, I gave away our vintage glass ornaments to a close friend of mine. She loves vintage décor and it suited her tree perfectly.
