Spring is upon us and during those early Spring months, before I am outside gardening, I try to get as much Spring Cleaning done as possible. Some of the items on my Spring Cleaning list have to wait for warmer weather, such as, cleaning my windows, but there are so many other things that need to be done. I try to conquer the smaller items on my list before I feel overwhelmed and do nothing. This way, I feel like I’ve accomplished at least a few items on my list.
One thing that I like to do is purge items in my home that I haven’t used in the last year. I will donate to those gifting groups on-line as well. Those groups are awesome. I’d rather someone else find a purpose for my unwanted gems than have them go to waste, so this is a perfect solution.
Having storage containers available for putting away winter jackets or off season throws is a huge help as well. Getting those containers might not be easy during the pandemic, but picking up one or two along the way sure does help. I like to use the clear storage containers so I can see what is inside of them.
Now depending on your living arrangements, you may live in an apartment and not able to do the things on this list. This list is just an example of what I like to do for Spring cleaning and it changes from year to year. I may add something or take something off the list.
Also, if you work full-time out of the house or a mom to young children, you may not be able to get to all of these items. Do what you think is most important for you. Maybe you missed washing your curtains this past year … we all have to pick out battles. Put that on your “must-do” list for this Spring. Don’t let it get swept under the rug again this year.
Put your checklist on your fridge and make a conscious effort to do one or two of these a week. Crossing these items off your list is liberating and brings a sense of accomplishment and who doesn’t like to feel like they’ve accomplished something? Am I right? Of course I am. Once you’ve completed your Spring Cleaning, you will love being in your home and you will feel less stressed because it’s all done … or at least most of it is. So grab your rubber gloves and your cleaning caddy and get to it. It’s time to Spring Clean!
